We’ve been battling away with the Connection Net Java applet, and think we’ve cracked theĀ problems on Macs now. PARC’s Prefuse Java code was very convenient to borrow, but (naturally!;-) once we were committed to it for our initial release, they brought out their Flare Flash-based visualization tools, so that’s now on our horizon. Java applets feel a bit clunky these days, but it’s giving us a vehicle to experiment with some ideas, and basically, Michelle is so conversant in Java that it was the fastest tool to kick things off with.
